CANNAUGHT PLACE FOOD WALK

Namaste India By European
(CANNAUGHT PLACE FOOD WALK)

It was supposed to be a normal Sunday and specially after the boring festival of Holi. But one of my very close friend called me up & asked me to if I can join him to C.P (the heart of our city), to accompany him for his some his International friends, helping them to buy some of the Indian stuffs includes sari & some souvenirs for their friends and family back home. I didn’t have any plan for the day so I said Ok I will join you and I think I took the right decision.

The moment I came out from the Metro station I met them there were 3 girls 2 Europeans & 1 were from Nagaland. They were so very excited to buy sari (the Indian ethnic dress). So we begin our journey from Pallika bazaar (the asia’s one of the biggest underground air conditioned market), in the search of a saari. After almost exploring all the shops able to find that particular color sari, what she was looking for.

Now after a walk in search of sari & souvenirs, it was the time to have a lunch. They requested me to take a place where they can enjoy their lunch without any spices but it should be from Delhi also, being a foodie now it was a challenge for me to find the right place for them but at the right moment which hit my mind was to take them to Nizam’s Kathi Kabab. Here they not only get the taste of Delhi’s Muglai food but that too without any extra spices.

I ordered Nizami Kali Dal, Laqmi Paratha , Double Mutton Double Egg Roll and Mutton Biryani  with fear in mind they tried & start loving it and not only they finished their meal so fast they jump into my roll to taste and find it so tasty that they can’t stop themselves for another one , earlier they thought it will be spicy but I can see the smile on their faces when they were so happily enjoying their meal.

After their happy meal, it was the time to take them for an Indian dessert , and what it can be the best with Paan the Indian sweet desert so we went to have Meetha Chocolate Chuski Paan What amazing and exciting about this shop is, the owner not only makes paan with all his heart but also feed you right into your mouth. In case if you shocked to read, yes read it again, he will not handover you the packed paan, like the rest of the shops in India, rather he feed you from his own hand this paan straight to your mouth.

Now the tummy is full, but I was thinking something is still missing & how can I forget the keventers when I am in CP, so the next place which I took them to was Keventers for the very famous flavored Milk Shake we ordered for vanilla & strawberry flavors. And now was the time to say those new friends good bye & wishing them a safe journey for back to their country & with a memory picture in front of giant Indian flag we said good bye, & hope to see you in your country someday & if now in heaven for sure.

Amazing experience, Hospitality, local guide, good barging, & the most important the whole journey to compress in one word is
“Atithi Devo Bhava”
